Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody of children

I was divorced back in 2004 and had 2 children under the age of 6. The father received standard visitation and I was wondering how to go about getting that changed to myself having full custody. The environment my children are in is not healthy and they practically hate going and I feel as a mother I need to protect their well being. Do I have to go back to court and if so who do I contact about doing so? The same lawyer I used for the divorce?

Re: Custody of children

You can use the same lawyer, especially if you were satisfied with the service, however, you can choose a new one if you wish.

Your statements are somewhat general and vague. It is very difficult to sever the relationship with a parent. The court wants children to have relationship with both parents, even when one of them is not a stellar parent. You will need significant evidence that the children are somehow being harmed.
