Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody of children

Mother gave temp custody to grandparents after she realized she was addicted to zan-x a drug prescribed to her a year after the death of her husband. She gave grandparents temp custody believing she would get them back in a month or two so she could relocate and get off the prescription and get a good job and house. She did all that but grandparents took rights through the court. Lying to my sister about court dated and making her miss court dates... Can and what does she have to do to get the children back. The grandparents were abusive to us (Im the aunt and the mother is my sister) sexually, physically, verbally and emotionally. My sister trusted them prob due to the drugs and was evacuating a hurricane when the spontaneous decision was made back in I think 03 or 04. Please help I dont know what else to do?

Re: custody of children

She is going to have to file for a modification, and will need to have documented evidence of the fraud, as well as her changed lifestyle. This is not a DIY process, but a complicated and difficult one, especially at this stage. She needs a lawyer.
