Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody concern after new relationships

I have recently divorced and I have joint custody of my daughter ( I am primary ) until she is five then I have full custody. Will I risk losing my daughter if I was to live with another man and we were not legally married. We are planning on getting married next year do i have to let my exhusband know of my remarriage and what are the conditions.

You need to read your Final Decree of Divorce. It controls. I often include a paragraph that neither party can have overnight visitors of the opposite sex spend the night while the child(ren) are present.

In regard to your remarriage, again read the Final Decree of Divorce. I never include anything about re-marriage in my divorce decrees, but if you agreed to something then you would be in contempt of court if you do not follow the document signed by the Judge.

If you live in the Houston area, I charge $175 an hour to review documents.
