Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody

My Daughter is a British citizen staying in Houston with her husband and 2 children (all British). She is very unhappy and wants to move back to the UK but her husband has said he is staying in USA for ever and that if she moves back to the UK, he will get an injunction to prevent her from taking the children out of USA. Can he legally do this? Thanks for your help

Re: custody

If the children have lived in the State of Texas for at least six months he can. That's enough for Texas to have jurisdiction in possession and custody matters. He might not prevail in keeping them here in the long run, but in the short run he can probably keep the children from leaving.
