Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I don't have custody of my daughter and nither does her father but he has had her for he past year and a hlaf now and he won't give her back. I haven't seen her in seven months and her father has stoped answering my phone calls. I was wondering if it would be better to hire an attorney to take him to court to get my daughter back or can I find an organization that will help me get the court documentts together and I file them myself. Do I need a lawyer? This all happened after he attcked me got out of jai, took my daughter and stayed hidden somewhere for a couple of days and now its been impossible to see her.

Hire an attorney.
If there are no orders in place, you can file through the Office of the Attorney General Child Support Division (OAG). This is free, but if there is a custody disput, they won't be much help.
You can also call Legal Aid and try to get a free attorney. If that doesn't work, contact the Texas Legal Services Center (www.tlsc.org) and they may be able to refer you to an attorney who will do the work at a huge discount.
Failing that, hire a private attorney and get your child back!!
