Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

custody issue

i have a son who is 3 and a daughter who is 14 months. i was not given any rights because of when the momma went to the court i was out of town working so i did not even know it was taking place. that was before my daughter was born. the bad thing is i would like custody and if not possible, then established visitation because she uses the children against me. she went against her own court orders to begin with that is how we ended up having a second child, but they are the most precious things in my life please help

Re: custody issue

You need to hire a lawyer. You have a procedural problem that you are not likely to be able to sort out for yourself.

Re: custody issue

You definately need an attorney.

Before you hire one, you need a certified copy of the current court order.

You can get a copy ($1 per page) at the Harris County Civil Courthouse in downtown Houston on Caroline. You go through a metal detector. You can order a copy on the 2nd floor.

Then read the document and take the copy and anything else you think is relevant to an attorney.

There are many excellent attorneys on this website.

Best of luck!

Happy Holidays!
