Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody Issues

My husband and I are having issues with my stepson's mother. We currently have him for the month and have come to learn that there is absolutely NO discipline while he is with her. He is 2 1/2 now and we do not believe that he is properly developing mentaly. I am going to be making him an appointment with a Dr. to ensure that he is health is where it needs to be and will also be scheduling and appt. to check his speach development, etc. We tried to speak with her about these issues and she just got angry and started cursing and become irrate stating that we just get a lawyer and fight for custody. This is they type of environment that he is in. She is not mentally stable. What would be our next step to move forward in getting custody

Re: Custody Issues

You are taking the right steps to have the child professionally evaluated. You will have to prove the emotional deprivation of the child. Now you need to find a good lawyer to help you assemble your case for custody. There are many good lawyers in your area - keep calling until you find one that understands the problem (be prepared with specific questions about what you want to accomplish) and one that can do this work on your budget.
