Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody law after divorce

I have joint custody of my daughter and son. My daughter lives with me and son lives with his dad.

We have been divorced for 2yrs and have visitation set by the court. The custody arrangement does not allow me to live outside of the denton county area with my daughter.

I am planning on remarrying someone out of state.

Can I move out of the state after the marriage?

Not if the custody order prevents it. That is what a Court Order is. Says things that you have to do. Failure to abide by the order is contempt. Could cost you money and possibly confinement. If you want to move, better get a lawyer and see if you can modify the order. Or do it your way and run the risk of losing custody of your child.
