Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Custody Terminology on Final Decree

I tried to file my final decree for my divorce, two kids, and chose Joint Managing Conservatorship (i think that's right) and labeled myself, the petitioner as ''Home Parent'' and my soon-to-be-ex, the respondent, ''Co-parent'' as indicated on the forms I'm using and same as my friends decree which was finalized a year ago. Anyhow, the judge said that the terms ''Home Parent'' and ''Co-parent'' weren't really terms that should be used on the paperwork.... that's all I can find in all the research I've been doing and I can't afford an attorney to look over my decree before going back and told to redo my decree again. Should I be using different terminology?

In a divorce with children, you can't not afford to hire an attorney. You don't even know what joint managing conservators are or if that is what you really want or really need. For your children's sake, hire an attorney to help you.
