Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I used to cut myself when I was a teen so my ex is telling me if I put him on child support he is gonna make child protective services take away my child because I was suicidal and have old scars he said he was gonna sue me for unfit mother. Could they really take away my kid if I keep going?
