Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Dad needs help collecting child support from mother.
My husband has custody of his 8-year old son from his first marriage. My step-son's mother has choosen not to work, and thus not pay child support for almost 2 years now. She is not physically unable to work. We've contacted the TX Attorney General's office, but they are asking the court to lower her arrears and have indicated that support will only be raised to $120 per month (she currently pays only $100/mo.). The AG's excuse for these actions is simply that she hasn't worked in so long that they can't raise it any more and they can't ask her to pay all of the arrears back. They won't explain it to us any more than that. Why would they do this? Why is it okay for a mom to choose not to support her child (in the eyes of the AG's office), but a father would most definitely be in jail by now for the same infractions?

If that is what the AG's office is telling, their story is total baloney. But, if you want to be satisfied with their efforts, that's all you will get.

My Mother told me that you get what you pay for. You are getting just what you paid for. People call me and then announce the AG will handle it for free. You have had a taste of the free stuff. Try hiring a person whos is on your side. If you are in DFW area you can call me at 817 261-2671
