Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My dad recently passed away and his will states that his 4th wife would receive everything. The understanding was that when she passes it will then be spilt in equal part between my brother, step-sister and myself.

There are serious doubts on whether my step mother will follow through ony dads wishes for me and my brother. She is already backing out of a verbal agreement on his hot rod that was supposed to go to one of us boys.

What options do me and my brother have? After all this is my fathers 4th wife, and we understand how step parents work. Also, we live in TX if that makes any difference.

Any advice is appreciated.

You have to realize the difference between "his will states" and "the understanding was."

If it's in the will, you have a prayer. If it's an "understanding," you have nothing but air.

Your stepmother is right now thinking of reasons to violate the "understanding." And all her reasons are good ones.
