Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I was dating a woman that was seperated from her husband for about 2 years. While we were dating she became with child. So we moved in with each other, 9 months later we had a baby boy. I put my name on the Birth Certiificate and gave him my last name. (Very Happy)
10 months later we go to visit her 9 year old step-daughter (her husbands daughter from his first wife) I notice she has some of the same features as my son. So I have a DNA test dome and the test returned that I was NOT the father. I found out she was see both of us at the same time. Now the boy is 2 1/2 years old and I see him every week and give his mother $100. a week.
What are my rights?
What opions do I have?
If I remain his father, what should I do to stay on the birth certificate?
If I want my name off the Birth certificate?

Based on what you have written, it truly depends upon what you want to do. As this child is not biologically yours and biologically belongs to two biological parents; you may want to consider not paying the child's mother any more money. If the true biological father ever decides to question the paternity of the child, then you may loose out when paternity is established.
