my daughter is three and her biological father was ordered to have six one hour visits since november of last year. he still has two to go and it is now july. is there anything i can do to change the visits for her to get more time adjusting since she barely knows him?

Yes, and the process you would take depends upon whether the current order is a temporary or final one. The petition would advise the court that the visits have been sporadic (through no fault of your own), and as a result the child is still not acquainted with her father. The petittion would ask that the stairstep graduated visitation should be adjusted to accomodate the child getting to know her father.
