Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My daughter had a child 2 weeks ago. Father is not on the birth certificate and no child support has been filed. Does the father have legal rights to have child for weekends or time to spend with child.

No. He has no legal rights in the child (except the right to file a paternity suit).
I assume that they were never married.

To have an enforceable right, the father will have to legally establish paternity. When children are very young, a father with established legal rights, still can only see the child in a limited manner. From a financial standpoint, it makes sense to file for child support. Please let me know if I can help.
