Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My daughter and ex-son-in-law divorced while he was still stationed in Germany 4 years ago and he recieved custody of their son. He is now stationed at a army base in the same city I live in. My daughter has no interest in pursuing her visitation rights. As a grandmother, do I have any kind of rights to be in my grandson's life?

I would sit down with an experienced family law attorney in your county.

I believe your grand parent rights are based on your daughter's rights. If she does not want to see the grandkids then your only rights will be based on the father's feelings toward you.

If you are nice to him then you might get to see the kids. Perhaps he might want a break from the kids and could use a free babysitter.
