Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am willing to let my daughter go stay with her grandmother for a semester so that she can go to school. If I do this they are saying the grandmother needs a POA in order to register into school. If I do this can she take my child away from me if I do give her a temporary POA?

This does not give her automatic custody of the child. The POA needs to be limited in time, and limited in purpose. You need to revoke it at the end of the semester. If grandma can establish standing, and wants to pursue custody, the arrangement would certainly be evidence in her favor, but it would be only one factor of many in a custody hearing.
