Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My daughter has wanted to live with her natural father for a while now. My daughter just decided this weekend that she wanted to live with her father who has very sporadic contact with her, Well she is 15, and old enough to make the choice so I let her go over there. I remarried three years ago and partly because of her bad choices and his beliefs they do not always get along. She is in private school because she gets in trouble in public school, so now that she lives with him, do I still pay the tuition or does this become his bill? Also she is really thriving in private school and does extra curricular activites i.e volleyball, who pays for those because she wants to start cheerleading? I do not have a problem paying for it if she lived with me but because she wants to live there shouldn't he have some repaonsibility? Also, I have not received any child support since Mar 05, and we were divorced in 1998, so he does not contribute our household. thank you.

A lot depends on what your current child support order says, and whether or not it orders anyone to pay tuition at a private school.

My suggestion: If you think that this new living arrangement for your daughter is permanent, file a motion for modification and get a new court order that reflects the changed circumstances and reassigns everybody's rights and responsibilities.
