Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a daughter that will be 4 in two weeks. Her bio dad is not on the birth certificate and does not pay child support. I have recently gotten married, and my husband wants to adopt my daughter. What are the right legal steps we should take towards this matter? Should we wait until after she is 4 & her bio dad cannot claim her? Or how does that work?

has there ever been dna testing? has he ever been adjudicated as the father? you should not attempt this type adoption on your own. my best advise is for you to find a reputable adoption attorney in your area. in the long run, that will be less expensive than if you make mistakes during the process.
