Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My daughters father and I have joint custody of our daughter and he has recently informed me that he submitted a custody modification because he feels like he can get his child support payments lowered now that he has 2 other children. He also wants to be able to see her more since we now live in Honolulu. I married a year ago and my husband is in the Air Force and was re stationed here. My daughter was with her dad since March 27th till July 27th for the summer. So it's not like he's hasn't been seeing her. I would just like to know what I could expect and if I should look into hiring a lawyer?

Yes, you need to hire an attorney. If his in one has not gone up, then yes, having two other kids will lower his child support payment. If he files suit in TX and the child has been living in HI for at least 6 months, then hire a Texas attorney to file a motion to transfer the case to HI. That will at least give you a hone court advantage.
