criminal charges on my back ground check has shown up, where as I have been cleared of the charges but there still in my files as convictions

Based on what you have stated, there may be a possibility of having the charges removed from your record under Chapter 55 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, so long as the charges meet the requirements and were not actual convictions.
