Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Dealing with a Narcissit who denies visitation
I was served a paternity suit and did not know I had to respond. It was dated 01/06 and I received it in 04/06 after the scheduled appearance date. It had my daughters dob wrong. I never received any other documents. on 7/13/06 a Final order as granted to my ex partner awarding her sole custody with visitation at her convenience. She refuses all attempts at communication. In a previous divorce she was ordered to have a psycho. eval, it determined she is a narcissist and not credible. Custody of her oldest son was awarded to the Father, the other 2 kids to her. How can I go back to curt and establish proper custody and visitation. If I knock on the door she will call the police and say I am threatening her. No reponse to phone calls, no response to emails. I was my daughters primary care provider from birth to 22 months, she is now 3. I am really lost as to what to do, I can't afford an attorney. Please help!!!

Re: Dealing with a Narcissit who denies visitation
The other court order is irrelevant regarding your case.
The court is not going to have a lot of sympathy for you since you knew about her personality but chose to have a child with her anyway.
You obviously made a huge mistake ignoring the documentation you received. Having the child's date of birth wrong does not invalidate the court order.
Now, you have to go back into court and show that the current order is not working.
If you go by and don't make a scene, you should not be arrested.
Of course, you can always call the sheriff or police to come out when you go to the house and make sure that you are behaving properly. Or you can call the sheriff or police before you go out and ask them how to do it in such a manner not to get arrested.
You are probably going to have to hire an attorney to represent you.
My legal fees start at around $l,000 and go up depending on what work is required.
