Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Dear LawGuru Team,
Husband and wife are raising grandchild for 8 of his 9 years in TX. Have consensual letter from child's mother to be guardians to said child. (Nothing filed with the courts). We've had this child under our insurance from day one, we have file income tax showing this child as a dependent. Recently Husband filed for a divorce, Is there anything legally binding this man for continued support his biological grandchild of which we're raising, insured and claimed as a dependent for 8 years?
Thank you

You will be going to an attorney for the divorce so talk to the attorney about the children. Since there is no court order his is not legally ordered to do anything.
