Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

death of family member

A family member has passed away and my grandfather is the oldest living realitive. The family member has been in a retirement home for several months and legal steps have been taken on the property and probably bank accounts.

the family member has been in the rest home for a short time and the property and bank accounts shoud have more than covered any cost. what are his rights as an heir

Depnds on whether there is a will. That will determine who gets what & how much. As a person interested in the estate, he file for probate of the estate.
