Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

deceased husband left no will

my deceased husband left no will. he has four grown children from a previous marriage. the only asset left is our house which is paid for. if i sell the house, do the kids have legal right to any of the money from the house?

the house is in mine and my late husband's name. in other words his name and my name are on the deed to the property.

Re: deceased husband left no will

You need to retain a probate attorney (not a family law attorney) to help you probate his estate.

Without a will, it's difficult and you really need an attorney to help you.

I'd run -- not walk-- to a proabate attorney and explain the situation to him/her.

Good luck!

My condolences on your loss.
