Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Default on Payment of Loan

My ex-husband agreed to pay me $30,000. in our divorce decree. This was from $20,000. I used to pay off his IRS lein plus interest. He is now living on Social Security and has not paid me for over a year. I agreed to lower the amount per month once he began SS but now he has moved and I don't have his address or phone number another issue included in the divorce decree. We were married three months shy of 10 years. Do I have any recourse? Thank you.

Re: Default on Payment of Loan

Probably. He has not fulfilled his obligation ordered under the divorce decree.

The amount of time you were married is not relevant.

He agreed to pay you and he has not done so.

You need to act or eventually the statue of limitations will run and you will not be able to collect.

Good luck!
