Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Ex Denying Court ordered visitation

My ex is denying visitation with my 15-year-old daughter. The order was in place in Harris County. The order states I get 42 days in the summer with my daughter. I already gave notice and my ex states she cannot put her on a plane since she can't walk her to the gate (per Continental airline rules). I live in Michigan. What do I do now? Can she do this?

Re: Ex Denying Court ordered visitation

Your attorney can ask your judge to enforce the court's visitation order.

Your ex is not required to escort a 15 year old to the gate in the terminal.

Re: Ex Denying Court ordered visitation

I would be glad to discuss your situation if you would contact me directly. Your orders need to contain provisions for long distance travel provisions. If the present orders do not contain such provisions, then you need to modify the order to add such. If the order already contains such provisions, then an enforcement action may be necessary. I am a board certified specialist in the field of family law practicing in Harris County. I can explain your options if you will call me.
