Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Destination Wedding

My husband and I were married in Jamaica in 2005, but we did not turn in a marriage license to the local US county office is the marriage legally binding in the US? Is there anything that needs to be done in Jamaica to dissolve the marriage? Are we legally married in the US even though the US doesn't know the marriage exists?

Re: Destination Wedding

I presume either of you could prove that you were legally married in Jamica; therefore you are legally married in the U.S. Should either deny the legality of the marriage, go back to the Jamaican courthouse and get a copy of the marriage license there.
