Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Devorce after 30+ years of seperation.

I have been living with someone for 30 years. I have taken his name and have been using it for all of that time.

I have never been devorced for my second husband and have no knowledge as to where he is.

I would like to get legally married. But because of my place in the community and church I don't want anyone to know.

Since I do not know where my ex-husband is, How long might it take to be devorce from him

Re: Devorce after 30+ years of seperation.

You will have to serve your husband by notice in the paper and

an attorney will likely be appointed (with you paying for

him) to represent his interests. It takes some time because of

the extra difficulties, but can be accomplished in three to four

months if all goes well. Keep in mind that the divoce filing is a

public record.
