Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Disabled Adult
My wife and I are going through a divorce and we have a mentally disabled child who is 22 years old. We have joint guardinship of her. My daugher recieves SSDI. Her attorney is recommending to my wife that I pay child support. Is this common since she is an adult? Also, does my wife have to have my permission to move my daughter to another county since I have equal guardinship?

Re: Disabled Adult
Texas law provides, upon pleadings and proof of disability, that the parents must continue supporting a child through adulthood. The nature and amount and length will depend upon the permanence of the disabiilty, the severity of the disability etc.
If your daughter is found to be disabled, then you can likewise request a geographical restriction.
