Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

disclosure of HIV status to child protective service

my son is trying to get temporary placement of my granddaughter who is in foster care. since he is in texas and it is still a ''good ol' boy'' state, does he legally have to disclose this information on the questionnare they sent him? he is the only one there who is family that can provide her a place to stay since i am in CA. we are afraid this will end his chances of getting her and can they refuse him because of this. he is currently employed, buying a home and is not in any kind of relationship. he lives in Dallas county and the case is in Tarrant County, texas

Re: disclosure of HIV status to child protective service

Many areas of Texas are quite enlightened. He needs to reveal the information, because it is the truth, and if learned later would likely severely harm his position. Any communicable disease, HIV, TB, etc should be disclosed. It should be done through an attorney, however, to insure that his case is fairly and completely and accurately presented to the the court.
