Divorce and alimony

I'm seriously considering getting a divorce after being married for 19 yrs.My husband is seldom employed and when he works a temporary job he usually drinks up the money and never helps me with any household bills.The strain of keeping up with rising costs is overwhelming now.Our children are grown and we do not own a home.Can he sue me for spousal support?I'm guessing he would do this in retaliation.

He could try, but presenting evidence of his behavior would probably defeat his claim.
