What happens in a divorce battle when one spouse isn't interested in counseling?

There isn't enough here to even guess what you are talking about. Counseling isn't a normal part of a "divorce battle".
You may be able to get an order that says they have to go to counseling, but you cannot make the other spouse participate in counseling. The old adage about being able to lead a horse to water but not being able to make him drink comes to mind.
