Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce after child support/custody order

My spouse and I have been separated for about 2.5 years. We have a child support/custody order already in place (Texas). Our daughter was born before we were married. Since the order is already established and in enforcement, do I need to include my daughter in the divorce paperwork (I am filing Pro Se - Texas).

Re: Divorce after child support/custody order

I would strongly encourage you to hire an attorney.

I don't know what county you are in but in Harris County, the judges won't do a divorce with minor children unless the visitation and child support issues are handled in the divorce.

If you've already done them through the TX A G, then you need to reference that document in the decree.

When I need dental work, I hire a dentist. When I need my car worked on, I hire a mechanic. My dentist and mechanic agree not to practice law if I don't try to do my own dental work and try to fix my own car.

If you buy a kit on-line BEWARE! Kits sold from other states do NOT work in Texas!
