When getting a divorce and a credit card is just in one spouce's name, is the other spouce responsible for half of the debt?

It's negotiable. The credit card company will only look to the person who signed the application for payment. If you did not sign, they won't contact you.

What is the credit card debt for? Could make a difference. I just mediated a case where the husband took another woman to Mexico and spent $4,000 - wife would not pay that part of the debt. He got 100% of these charges on the credit card.
