Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce and Custody Issues

My daughter has been served with divorce papers and she needs to file a answer with 20 days of the date she was served. I need to know what the official name of the document that I need to file a response answer to a divorce petition and is there anything else I need to file. Also, How if you don't have alot of money can you obtain an Attorney for this matter? And How do I find this help for her? We have been to court twice and she under a Temporary Restaining Order to stay in Tarrant Co. but she works in Collin Co. and has had to drive for 1 and 1/2 hours to go to work everyday. Please Help!

I sell the form called "Answer" for $25 cash.

However, you need to find an attorney.

You can visit my website for links to many pro bono programs.

You can also visit the State Bar of Texas website for pro bono organizations.

However, most pro bono organizations are swamped and it may take months for her to get a free attorney.

I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO RETAIN THE SERVICE OF AN ATTORNEY.

Re: Divorce and Custody Issues

You have already been given good suggestions here, but also want to add that it is a misconception that you have to be rich to hire a lawyer. You daughter appears to have a myriad of legal problems that need to be resolved. Mr. Grissom is right, lawyers will work on payment plans. It is necessary to discuss the full scope of the problem, and to honestly discuss your finances. If the payments are reasonable and timely, you might be able to afford a lawyer.
