My daughter has two small children and the husband has all the control of the money and her. She wants to divorce him but is affraid that he will hurt her and the children. They will come and live temporary with the grandparents but wants to know her way of telling him without him hurting her and the children.

Without hurting him, she wants to take everything that he controls. These things are seldom easy and almost always hurt somebody. She needs to get a TRO for temporary support and freeze the bank accounts and be prepared with a really good lawyer. Otherwise, he will control this situation just as he has controlled everything else. Good Luck.
