Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce decree modification

Paid for modification for my son to reside with me, we have joint custody and equal upkeep for him according to old decree issued 13yrs ago. No child support involved. Son needs support as my income is substantially lower than ex-spouse. Atty said under new laws I am entitled to it. Paid the atty for uncontested, spouse is contesting. Have not recieved any info from the Atty and he has so far $848.00 he will not return my calls and cashed my check filing fee to serve papers over 3 wks ago. He will not return my phone calls and his office is by appt. The only way in is if his receptionist lets you in through an electric door. Who can I contact? if he does not return my call this week. I tried everyday last week, and he would not call. All I want to know is the progress, since so far he has taken my money and I have not seen anything he has done.

Re: Divorce decree modification

Attorneys get busy, and it is more than likely everything is fine. Write him a letter, politely asking for an update.
