what does dismiss for want of prosecution mean

It means the lawsuit (divorce, modification, whatever) has been or will be dismissed by the Court because nothing has happened. The Courts only leave cases open so long before they get rid of them if no one is doing anything.

Based on what you have written, dismiss for want of prosecution means that the court is dismissing the case because no action is taking place on the case.
