Divorce

I want to file for a divorce and was wondering do I have to file in the county I am living in or can I file in the county I am working in?

Re: Divorce

You file in the county you live in. You must include a physical address where you receive your mail.

Good luck!

Re: Divorce

Where a suit should be filed is a matter of jurisdiction and venue. Venue is the specific issue it appears you are addressing. Venue is based upon where the parties are domiciled (live), not where they work. There are additional requirements regarding how long you have to have lived in a county before initiating a divorce in that county's courts.

If I can be of assistance to you with this matter, please feel free to contact me. Good luck.
