Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce

I was filed upon by my husband and do not want to sign yet because the child support amount is blank on decree he gave me. I decided to go to the attorney general so that they can determine what he needs to give my by law for my 2 kids. He filed on april 18 and 60 days is up. What should i do? I do not want to sign until child support amount is detrmined by atty general. I am not contesting . I do want the divorce . I was just advised by a lawyer not to sign until I can figure out the amount beacuse they can put any amount in the blank.Thats why I got the atty general involved. should i write a letter to him and his atty stating reason why i have not signed papers yet?

Re: Divorce

Have you filed an answer? If not, and if he has had you served, he can get the divorce at any time, without any further notice to you. You would not have any say so, as to the amount of child support. Get a lawyer if you cannot get this accomplished on your own.
