Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Divorce filing

My husband filed for divorce a year ago, and we aggreed to temporary orders without going to court. But we have not had it finalized as we thought we were going to reconcile. That is not going to happen, but he will not call his attorney to get the final papers done . We are not fighting over anything, I just want the final papers filed. Can I do this without incurring the cost of an attorney since he already paid for one?

Re: Divorce filing

No. You cannot force this issue with him or his attorney. You can hire an attorney who will prepare a final decree and submit it to his attorney for signature. If they do not sign it, then your matter is contested, and you will have to request a trial date to force the matter forward.
