Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Once a divorce is final, is either spouse legally entitled to any assets given to them by their parents? Or, for that matter, any asset given to them in their name prior to the finalization of the divorce.

In Texas gifts are separate property. A court cannot take a spouse's separate property as part of a division in a divorce. Once a divorce is final (30 days after it is signed by the judge) there is no more community to divide.
