Divorce when you can't find spouse
I have been seperated from my husband for almost 10 years and I want a divorce but I am not do not know where he is. I have not had contact with him for over 4 years.

You can file and either do substituted service or service by publication. Also, with the internet it is easier to find people than it used to be. In summary, you may be able to find him, but if not then you can still obtain a divorce, it is just a little more complicated.

All the answers you have received are correct. more complicated but possible. You need to get a divorce for many reasons. As a married person you have a legal obligation to support your spouse. If you do not have a will he is likely to inherit lots of your property. If he has tax problem- you have a tax problem too. A divorce once you know you do not want to be married to this person is vital. Set an appointment with a lawyer near you as soon as possible.
