Divorce
I have no income. Been married 18
yrs. Served with divorce papers. Have
a down syn, .autistic 16 yr. old
daughter and 12 yr. old. daughter.
have no friends or family. No govt.
aid because husband owes 15,000
back taxes. He wants the kids and
house. 12 year old doesn't want to
live with him. Should I go with court
appt lawyer? Do I have a chance in
keeping the house and children?
House is worth 110,000 he earns
37,000.I need 2,000 to pay bills per
month. Help?

The court will not appoint a lawyer in a divorce case. There are legal assistance services, however, through the government and through various church agencies. Contact the State Bar in Austin for referrals. You sound as if you would qualify. Please do so today, to protect yourself and your children.
