Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Going through divorce. My lawyer says that I'm not responsible for my wife's credit card debt since I can't sign on those cards. They are hers and only hers and have been since before we were married. However, her lawyer is saying that the debt will be shared by the two of us. So, basically, each of our lawyers are telling us just what we want to hear. Is there a law that states what happens to the debt?

Separate property or debt is that acquired before you were married. Community property or debt is that acquired after you were married. If any purchases were made with the card after you got married then it is community debt. If it can't be apportioned then you may be responsible for it. If it can then it is hers.
