may a married couple seeking to divorce use the same attorney as long as they agree on the terms?

I don't know of any family law attorney that would represent both parties. The State Bar of Texas frowns on it.

In fact, if an attorney says that he/she will represent both of you in a divorce, BUYER BEWARE!

It's an immediate conflict of interest.

I will represent one party and negotiate with the other party as long as they are not represented by legal counsel.

If a person retains an attorney, it is unethical to talk to the person without going through their attorney.
