Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
Divorce papers interpretation addendum
My divorce papers read that if my ex and live in the same county at the rendition of the final decree, and I move out of that county, then we must split the drive tme on his weekends with his daughter. But the addresses in the papers clearly show that he lived in one county and I lived in another at the rendition of the decree. So for well over a year he did the drive both ways on his weekends, to and from, a distance of about 115 miles each way, without arguing, as the standard orders stated that he msut do so. But I recently moved to a new city, 115 miles south of his residence, and now he claims we must split the drive time becuase I moved out of the county I lived in at the time of the orders. I disagree as they clearly state he must pick and return his daughter. Unless we did live in the same county at the time of the rendition of the final decree, which we did not. My moving from one city to another should not have any bearing on things, correct?i

Which is cheaper? Doing half the driving or fighting with him in Court? The Court might very well find in his favor since you are the one doing the moving.
