Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
If the divorce papers say to pay child support by the 1st but the Attorney General in Texas says that you have the whole month to pay...which one is binding?

You cannot be held in contempt of court until you are more than 30 days late.
It is due on the date in your decree (probably the first of every month) but you have 30 days to pay it before it is considered "late" and then you can be held in contempt of court.
So if money is due December 1, 2014 then you are in contempt of court on January 1, 2015.
