Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

A divorce took place 4 yrs ago in Denver co. The father moved back to Texas 31/2 yrs ago. The mother moved back to texas with the son shortly after. They have both established residency in lubbock texas and he has been enrolled in school. The mother has decided to move back to Denver and take the son. They did not renegociate the divorce papers here in texas. Can she take him out right? what rights does the father have?

You can register the foreign decree in Texas and enforce it in Texas. Modifying it to include a Texas geographic restriction will be difficult, maybe not impossible. Either way, you should attempt it before she leaves the state, so that you can establish to the court her residency in Texas.
